Meeeeyaaaaddaaaaa! MX5 it up!
And after a short but definitely needed time off, I am back! And quite frankly the same as ever. Since the last post, I’ve gotten a few more items upgraded for the black WRX, including:
- Intake manifold port and polished and ceramic coated from Grimmspeed
- TGV removal as well as PnP and ceramic coated from Grimmspeed
- VF48 PnP and ceramic coated from Grimmspeed
- Newish EJ205
Now, it’s just awaiting a tune before it’s return to glory!
In the meantime, I’ve gotten a 1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata. I choose a later model NA Miata because it came with a few advantages:
- 1.8L engine with more torque
- Torsen LSD
- It was black
Unfortunately, when I bought the Miata, the LSD was blown. Even more unfortunate, the replacement diff that I procured was a VLSD from a 1.6L Miata. Technically this was a downgrade, but it was a quarter of the price of the Torsen LSD. At some point in the future, I’ll probably upgrade, but for the time being I’m pretty happy.
So happy in fact, I washed it:
It’s so happy right now. I’ll update autojunkee as I upgrade this beast.
